AMA Community Affairs Team: Director Positions

All positions work under my role, The VP of Community Affairs, to support AMA’s philanthropic work as well as the club’s social aspect. In order to maximize AMA's social impact, I am seeking out direct reports with the following qualifications.***

Right now I am planning a Clothing Drive with SUSA and A Wider Circle during Marketing Week and A Case Competition with The Center for Social Value Creation at Smith with the theme of “Social Impact Marketing”.

In addition to these events, I would like to hold multiple fundraisers to support our club that would ideally have some sort of social aspect with an incentive to attend these events (work with the VP’s of Membership). I would also like to create an AMA Terp Thon dance team this Spring, where the recruiting and logistics would be worked out during the Fall semester.

The Director of Fundraising and The Director of Social Events/Mentorship would likely work closely together to plan fundraisers that have a social vibe. I encourage these directors to work with the VP’s of Membership to create an incentive that corresponds with our membership points system.

Necessary Skills for Role

Eagerness to build and maintain mutually-beneficial relationships between AMA and local businesses

Effective persuasive skills when communicating the events to members, in person at events, individually through text/email and through social media

Plan a speed dating/ social event for GBM’s and exec members to meet

Necessary Skills for Role

Outgoing, energetic and welcoming personality that will inspire members to build relationships within the club

Easy to contact for information regarding AMA any events

Experience as a social chair of another club

Director of Terp Thon Relations

Roles and responsibilities

Market Terp Thon to our GBM’s and work with MOPS to incentivize them to attend the event

Keep our GBM’s up to date and engaged with any Terp Thon events, fundraisers, etc.

Help build relationships between the GBM’s who are signed up for the Terp Thon Team to allow the group to be close-knit

Necessary Skills for Role

Have had experience with Terp Thon in the past (and preferably AMA)

Energized and passionate about recruiting people to join AMA’s Terp Thon team
